It has been a very challenging quarter for everyone, I am sure. I know that it has been for me. This is the largest class of MA220 that I have ever taught. For the most part, you guys have been excellent. You started turning in work immediately, and for that I am grateful. I am glad that we have been patient with each other as we worked through this quarter. Thank you again.

No Name Medisoft Work
Posted: Mar 31, 2008
Someone turned in all of their Medisoft Homework with no name on it. If you can identify it, call me so I can give you credit. I am busy wading through all of the work. Please be patient with me. I have never had this many students in this class at once. Call me with any questions.

Week 9
Posted: Mar 13, 2008
All of you should be working on Medisoft by now. As you complete the chapter reviews for each chapter, 1 - 11, turn them in. They should be on a separate piece of paper, ripped out, or photocopied. The only test for Medisoft will be on the "using terminology" sections of each homework. You may take it during my office hours during week 10 or 11. You guys are on the down hill stretch now; keep up the good work.

Week 8
Posted: Mar 10, 2008
I am knee deep in grading transcriptions. I have alphabetized all of the work that I received. I grade three of each person's transcriptions at a time. I am getting these back to you as soon as is humanly possible. I hope that you have started Medisoft. It is really easy once you get started. If you have any questions, call, e-mail, drop a note in my box, or come see me during office hours. 226-0724, mearley@miller-motte.net, Wed/Thurs 1pm - 6pm.

Week 7
Posted: Mar 2, 2008
You should have turned in your three chapters of transcription by now. You should be finishing up your tests for transcription. I am working diligently on grading them. I am very happy with your performances so far.
The next item of the agenda is Medisoft. All you have to do in this part of the class is 11 homeworks and 1 test. You, of course, need to keep logging in once a week and responding to the discussion area topic.
For those of you who are going to do the work at home, install the medisoft disk and then never use it again. The other disk has your fake patients on it and will need to be used every session. If you have any problem, just answer as much of the homework as you can and don't worry about the rest.
For those of you who want to do the work at school, you can't. The software does not work at school. Just answer as much of the homework as you can to chapter 11.
There will be one test on Medisoft. The vocabulary words in the "Using Terminology" sectio

Week 6
Posted: Feb 25, 2008
This is week 6 and we have a mandatory class. At that meeting, we will do midterm counseling. This week your third chapter of dictation is due. If you need to catch up, do it. If you need help, call me at 226-0724. Please disregard the number in the brochure. I had to change my number because I was not getting service at my new house. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience. You can also always e-mail me or put a note in my box. See you sometime this week.

Week 5 announcement
Posted: Feb 19, 2008
Hey guys, many of you are finishing up the transcription part of the class. This is the best class I have ever had.
As for the quizzes, the discussion area topic replies are going to count as the quizzes.
Pick up all graded work in room 150 or 160. Please do not remove the answer key books or any part of them. Please do not make copies of the answer key books or any part of them. This is unethical and selfish.
Our next mandatory class will be next Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Drop by Wednesday or Thursday between 8:30 am and 6 pm for your midterm grades. Failure to report to this class may result in your being dropped from the class.

Week 4
Posted: Feb 16, 2008
This week the second chapter of dictation is due. Remeber that everybody has different versions. So if you are typing chpater 2,3,4 in order, you are not doing the right assignment. Come see me.
Be sure to get all graded work from the filebox in room 150 or 160. I will make sure that the answer keys are complete on Monday. If you see people taking out pages, please let me know. It is selfish and lazy to do this. Everybody keep up the good work. It will soon be nothing more than a blurry memory.

Week 3
Posted: Feb 4, 2008
This is the week of the first of three mandatory meetings. You must check in with me this week. If you are current, you just need to check in. If you are behind, you will need to make arrangements to stay at least two hours to catch up. This is the perfect opportunity to clarify everything you may have questions about. E-mail me if you have any problems making it Wednesday, February 6 or Thursday, February 7 between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Week 2
Posted: Jan 31, 2008
It is already week 2 and I know that some of you already feel like you are behind. As long as you catch up by Thursday, Feb. 8, you are still doing very well. Please remember that you are only doing 3 chapters and 1 test from the CD. Make sure to do the ones that I assigned you in your packet. Also, keep doing the homework and replying to the discussion area topics. If you have any questions, e-mail me at mearley@miller-motte.net. Keep up the good work.

Welcome. I hope that everyone started off this new quarter on a high note. This course is challenging, but I will help in anyway that I can to get you through it having learned some new skills and discovered a new respect for folks who do this for a living. If you need anything, e-mail me at mearley@miller-motte.net.
